5 Great Events in Iconic Noosa Locations Including the Exclusive Moet Island

  • Written by Susan Ewington

Noosa Food & Wine Festival

Treat yourself to one (or more) events that combine top notch food, delicious wine, nationally acclaimed chefs and some of Noosa's most iconic locations.

Introducing the Festival's newest event  - Moet Island! Saturday 18 May from 12.00pm ($195) French Champagne, fresh seafood and live DJ tunes are just the beginning of Moët Island. Recognising our love for Noosa and it's sparkling coastline, Moët Island is the only event for 2019 set on the water.  All guests will depart from Hastings Street aboard the classic Noosa River Ferry. Once aboard enjoy free-flowing Moët & Chandon champagne plus first-class service complete with rolling Noosa River views.Upon arrival at secluded Makepeace Island you'll be greeted by a chic and coastal lunch setting. We're talking a fresh seafood menu filled to the brim with Queensland's world-class produce. Curated in collaboration with Moët & Chandon, this intimate and exclusive lunch is one not to be missed.

The Underground Collectiveis taking place on Friday 17 May from 12.00pm ($249) and will be a truly intimate and immersive experience of gastronomic discovery, alongside nationally acclaimed Alla Wolf-Tasker, Jo Barrett, Matt Moran, Scott Pickett and Zeb Gilbert.

Nestled in the foothills of a local Noosa farm and focusing on seasonal, small scale producers, this progressive lunch with wine pairings will highlight root vegetables and ingredients from the earth set to be in season.

Curated in collaboration with Wasabi Noosa, Alla, Matt, Scott, Jo and Zeb will share their love and admiration for great producers, both local and across Australia, with plenty of shared conversations.

Well Nourished – Sunday 19 May, 9.30am. ($95). This lazy Sunday morning brunch will ease you into the day ahead, bringing Noosa's Belmondos Organic Market straight to the shores of Noosa Main Beach.

Ground your feet in the sand, breathe in the crisp Noosa air and explore a world of wellness for the mind, body and soul. Think: organic, ethical produce, seasonal food, locally roasted coffee, a glass of organic bubbles and a Noosa Reds Tomatoes Bloody Mary.

Modern Australia is taking place on Friday 18 May at 12.00pm ($249) in the Noosa hinterland and will be an authentic lunch experience infused with the unique flavours of the Australian bush. Learn from the world's most ancient culture as you forage and dine with a new wave of modern food pioneers – Harvest Newrybar's Head Chef Alastair Waddell, Resident Forager and pioneer of the Australian Bushfood industry Peter Hardwick, Jaaning Tree's Clayton Donovan and your host and MC, Orana's Jock Zonfrillo. Alastair's root to stem cooking philosophy along with his passion for wild and native ingredients perfectly complements Clayton Donovan's approach to menu design for this daytime gathering.

Drawing on native Australian ingredients and flavours indigenous to the Noosa Hinterland, coupled with local and regional ingredients, diners will join Peter for insightful conversation on foraging and learning first hand where their lunch flavours originated.

Set on the ground of a local hinterland farm, curated in collaboration with Wasabi Noosa and supported by local producers and growers, this new addition to Noosa Food & Wine Festival is one not to be missed!

Noir Noosa –  a new addition to Hastings Street on Saturday 18 May ($295). Celebrate Moët & Chandon Impérial's 150th Anniversary under the stars and glistening fairy lights of Hastings Street at Noosa Food & Wine Festival's new signature event, Noir Noosa.

In ode to the era of Napoléon, this black-tie Gala Dinner will be a night to remember, as we transform Hastings Street into a glamourous and theatrical celebration. An elegant, French inspired menu by Locale Noosa and Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort, served alongside flowing Moët & Chandon Impérial champagne.
