Earn (& Burn) Your Vacation Calories Away

Pure Adventures Blends Active and Culinary Tours Together for a Fitter, Still-Fabulous, and Less-Guilty 'Foodie' Vacation Experience

ASPEN, CO, 11 April 2019 – Food-focused tours can often leave indulgent travelers feeling over-stuffed and logy. But Pure Adventures' active 'Trail to Table' itineraries balance fabulous dining experiences with active days spent hiking and biking, allowing travelers to both earn calories consumed with pre-meal activities and then burn more off as they continue staying active.

The 25-year old Pure Adventures has always seen food as one of the highlights of traveling to a new destination.

“Local cuisine is such a part of the story of a destination,” said Pure Adventures Founder and CEO Loren Siekman. “It's interwoven through the history, the landscape and the culture – so much so that it really becomes a critical element for a traveler to truly immerse themselves into a destination. We're proud to highlight these fascinating (and delicious) local culinary stories via this initiative.”

Trail to Table trips include:

  • Norway – Trail to Table: NEW for 2019, this trip takes you through fjord landscapes to see impressive waterfalls, quaint villages, medieval stave churches, hamlets and fjord side farms. Relaxing secondary roads and paths take you to breath-taking places on bike and by foot.
  • Italy – Trail to Table in Puglia: Spend an unforgettable week experiencing the passionate culture of Puglia, the sun-drenched heel of the boot that rests between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. This agricultural region is abundant with more than 50 million olive trees and a tradition of wine production that has flourished over the last decade.
  • Croatia – Trail to Table on the Dalmatian Coast: The Roman history and culture of Dalmatia shines through in its structures, food and lifestyle as a place both unique and yet somehow familiar. From the streets of Dubrovnik to the salt mines and family farms of Peljesac, to the lavender fields of Hvar, to Diocletian's Palace in Split, each day is filled with the best of local food and wines and energizing and fulfilling activities.
  • Italy – Trail to Table in Sardinia: Sardinia's varied landscape is ripe for exploration. The beaches, the mountains, forests and hilltop villages create an open playground for multisport active holidays. Sardinian cuisine is also a mélange of cultures and traditions. Entrees feature local lamb, pork and wild boar or seafood specialties prepared in diverse Mediterranean styles while a wide variety of local cheeses, olive oils, and good, sweet wines accompany.

Other Trail to Table tours take travelers to Chile, Argentina, Hungary and France.
