7 Easy Meals to Make with Flatbread

Flatbread is an incredibly versatile type of bread, perfect for both savory meals and sweet desserts. Not only can you use flatbread as a tasty reliable base for your foods, you can also use it as a wrap or even a side dish.

If you’ve got some flatbread sitting in your pantry and want to make the best use out of it, keep reading to discover seven easy meals you can make with flatbread!

Mediterranean Baba Ghanoush Flatbread

The Mediterranean baba ghaonoush flatbread is a simple meal to make. Like a pizza, you simply place all your vegetables and ingredients onto the top of your flatbread with a dressing of your choice. Unlike a pizza however, the tomatoes are the main topping, rather than the sauce. Instead of marinara, smoky baba ghanoush is used to top the flatbread. You can also add hazelnuts for some extra flavour and crunch to the flatbread.

Tomato, Feta and Flatbread Salad

Flatbread also goes well with salad. Best when toasted, you can simply toss some pieces of flatbread into your tomato and feta salad. Tomato and feta salad is always delicious by itself, but with flatbread, you can make the meal a bit more filling and flavourful. We recommend using cherry tomatoes, mint, parsley, spring onions and crumbled feta in your salad.

Flatbread Crisps with Dips

Who doesn’t like some delicious crisps with a meal? Not many people know of this, but you can actually make crisps from flatbread quite easily! Simply cut your flatbread up into bite sized pieces, brush both sides with za’atar and finely grated lemon and bake until golden brown and crisp. This usually takes five to six months. Quick and easy, you can serve your flatbread crisps with any dip you prefer, although we recommend chickpea dips.

Labne and Eggplant Pizza

Flatbread can make for a sturdy yet soft pizza base. To make labne and eggplant pizza, combine garlic, dukkah, labne and lemon juice to spread over your flatbread. You can top this sauce with diced eggplant and other seasonings. Once seasoned to your liking, bake your flatbread until the eggplant is browned and tender.

Naan Flatbread with Cheese and Garlic

Inspired by West and South East Asian cuisine, you can make naan using flatbread and serve it with toppings and fillings of your choice. One of the most popular types of naan bread - besides the original - is cheese and garlic. Simple to make yet also incredibly appetizing, naan flatbread with cheese and garlic is a great menu item to make if you want something flavorful to compliment your other dishes.

Jambalaya Flatbread

Jambalaya flatbread is most commonly made with shrimp, chicken, andouille sausage and jambalaya (also known as peppers). You can replace the rice in this meal with flatbread so that you have some great finger food while still having some carbs in your diet.

Vegan Potato Flatbread Pizza

If you are looking for a vegan flatbread option, potato flatbread pizza is a great meal to consider. You can take advantage of the natural creaminess of potatoes to make a filling flatbread pizza. Add a few habanero peppers and vegan cream cheese for a simple but delicious pizza meal.

If any of these meals entice you, you can up their deliciousness with the right flatbread. Check out Suprima’s frozen flatbread for some convenient yet tasty flatbread to use in your cooking.
