7 Popular Types of Coffee Makers

Coffee is an essential part of many people's lives. Countless individuals have claimed they can't function optimally without their morning cup of coffee. Many people depend on their local shops for their cup of coffee. If calculated annually, this amounts to a hefty sum. A coffee machine or coffee maker can give the same quality of coffee at home. Nowadays, these coffee machines are so advanced that they can be programmed to brew any coffee. These machines are either completely manual, allowing the individual to control every part of the brewing, semi-automatic or fully automatic.

Most coffee makers work on the same principle; Hot water percolates through pressurised coffee grounds. This water goes through a filter to ensure no coffee-grounds are present in the brew.

Types of Coffee Machines

There are a million different types of coffee, like espresso, cappuccino, Turkish coffee and so on. Coffee makers also come in various models to make these different types of coffees,

  1. Grinding Machines

These coffee makers make the freshest brew. The coffee machine grinds coffee beans according to specification; coarse or fine. The coffee maker heats the water in its reservoir and pours it over the coffee grounds. This water with the coffee grounds is then percolated and filtered to make the perfect espresso. The coffee maker also allows for specifications like aroma and concentration.

  1. Milk Texturiser

These coffee makers come with an extra appendage that texturises the milk according to specification. The coffee maker has a milk reservoir or a cup for the milk. The coffee maker then froths this milk for that perfect cappuccino or latte. Based on the specification of the amount, the coffee maker adds this frothed milk to the brew.

  1. Double Espresso

This machine is perfect for those who like an especially strong or concentrated brew. The coffee grounds go through two stages of percolation. The water is percolated once through the coffee grounds and filtered. A second-time of water percolation, while the coffee grounds are under pressure, allows the oil from the coffee grounds to be added to the decoction as well. This double percolation makes a concentrated brew.

  1. Capsule Coffee Makers

These machines store a pre-determined amount of coffee grounds in a capsule. These capsules are available separately for purchase as well. The coffee maker has slots for the "capsules'' and once placed, the machine does the rest. A water reservoir in the coffee maker ensures that one doesn't have to pour water every time they want to brew a cup. Depending on their concentration preference, people can add as many capsules as they want to make them more concentrated.

  1. Customised Coffee

As the coffee makers have advanced with the times, they are now available with a full LCD panel and touch automation. These machines also allow for one to save customisations. People can specify the amount to be ground, the milk texture, temperature of the water and the aroma and concentration. These customisations can be saved on the machine and brewed every day.

  1. The Frappe

For those who love frappes, this is the best coffee maker to buy. The coffee machine blends ice, milk and coffee grounds to give that perfect 'hit' of ice frappe. Ice Frappes are a blissful drink to enjoy during tropical summers, as the ice cools the body.

  1. The Full Barista

The most versatile coffee maker, these machines make anything that is available on a Barista menu. From Latte, Espresso and Americano to Ice frappes, all have pre-determined settings, and all it takes is a touch to make them. These coffee makers also come with a coffee grinder. This machine makes the fastest and freshest bean to cup.

Coffee machines drastically reduce the amount spent on a cup every day, when people drink home-brewed coffee. Without compromising on quality, coffee machines bring the satisfaction of a cup of coffee at home.
